Wales invests GBP 50 million in technology education

Kirsty Williams, the Welsh Minister of Education, has announced that the government will invest about fifty million pounds (GBP50m) in improving education technology around schools in the country.
According to Ms. Williams, technology education should be an integral part of school curriculums, as modern-day life is predominantly revolving around digital products. To better prepare students for the activities and work tasks they are going to perform when they enter the job market, the educational system around Wales needs to give them practical experience with technology.
When announcing this new investment, Ms. Williams also stated that by:

Improving Wales’ digital infrastructure, this funding will help to give pupils the skills to meet the opportunities and challenges of the coming decades.

Wales prepares for the future

Technology and digital services are evolving by the minute, and the Welsh government realizes that. To prepare students for the future as fully as possible, schools in the country will aim to provide quality digital education.
The fifty million pounds (GBP50m) funding will be spent on expanding the government’s HWB platform, which provides access to digital tools and resources in the academic field. HWB is widely available across Wales, and “maintained schools” have access to login details for the platform.
Online education materials and a centralized hub for information are handy tools in modern schools. The more schools have access to these tools, the easier it will be for students to manage their workload. Technological innovation is taking over the educational system, and Wales is trying to adapt to these changes and prepare for the future.
