The new visa policy which supports international students in the United Kingdom (UK) received applause from an organization representing 130 UK Universities. International students welcomed the new plan which increased the number of months of work visa for international students from a previous four months to 48 months, an equivalent of 2 years.
This new visa policy goes is way better than the system proposed by Theresa May – a six months visa policy. UK having acknowledged the cultural and economic benefits international students add to the country, decided to encourage more international students into the country. Hence the purpose of the two years new visa policy.

No cap on new visa policy for students

The previous visa policy of four months had placed Britain at a disadvantaged with international students, as stated by the Chief Executive of Universities UK, Alistair Jarvis. According to Chief Executive, the new visa policy will continue to attract top talents to Britain, favorable to the UK companies.
In 2018, a total of 460,000 international students graduated from UK universities, and the government plans to increase this number from to 600,000 in ten years. The new visa policy is fixed for next year, 2020, and those not have any cap on the number of international students that can apply.
Nevertheless, international students should have tier 4 (visa) to qualify for the new permit. Department for Education said the new visa policy would allow students to work after school and even apply for longer-term work visas. The international students can also switch to skilled work route if they get an appropriately qualified job.
