Tuition fees refund for 1k students in British universities

Tuition fees refund

British universities have acknowledged that they have been prompted to carry out tuition fees refund for nearly 1,000 students in the last two years. This has been instigated by complaints that they are not getting value for their money.
The issue of tuition fees refund is a primary source of concern because this depicts the presence of low-quality education as students are not satisfied with the standards availed.

Tuition fees refund prompted by dissatisfaction

Currently, students are required to pay fees worth £9,250 annually compared to paying £3,000 in 2006.
Students in British universities are continuously paying high tuition fees. Nevertheless, some of them have become dissatisfied with the quality of education rendered. It is the reason why they have been demanding a refund.
Realistically, universities tend to promote various courses with the promise of presenting exceptional career paths, as well as incredible facilities. This is, however, not usually the case as they do not live to expectations.

Tuition fees refund totals at least £750,000

Tuition fees refund availed to students stood at 978 payouts worth at least £750,000 in the last two years.
For instance, Teesside University paid £56,650 to 23 students. Some of them complained about the quality of education they were receiving in their MSc courses. On the other hand, the University of Leicester paid £27,928 to 18 students.
The Royal Veterinary College was also not spared because £3,450 was paid back to a student who protested about the teaching quality and research project supervision.
Critics have acknowledged that students have been hit with the reality of the presence of the huge scandal involving poor-quality courses. Some of them have made learners unemployable, and this has been detrimental.
Some of the complaints received were directed at lecturers, whereas others to courses being mis-sold or elements changing upon enrollment.
On the other hand, UK students have been complaining about the rising cost of university halls. Notably, the rent for university halls has been steadily rising over the past few years.
This has resulted in student leadership in collaboration with rent action to demand action to be taken by universities to address this problem. They have also organized a strike action on Thursday calling for universities to intervene.
