At least 4000 students in Singapore are still going to school due to special circumstances.

Change in protocol with the sudden spike in COVID-19 cases

A month ago, Singapore was almost ready to return to full blast with its physical classes. But, just a week ago, things change rapidly, from going all-out physical classes, it shifted back to distance learning.
COVID-19 cases in Singapore suddenly hit the second wave of its peak over the weekend. The government was forced to cancel the resume of classes and put the country in a strict lockdown. The country is now in a strict quarantined protocol, in high hopes of putting a halt on the sudden rise of positive cases.
Students in Singapore are now advised to return to distance learning and continue online classes from their electronic devices at home. This seems to be not a problem for almost 98 percent of the households in Singapore with available electronic gadgets and accessible internet connection.
Somehow, there are still those who cannot afford laptops, tablets, and a decent internet connection to access distance learning materials. This is why the Ministry of Education in Singapore has offered low-income families, a subsidized gadget loan plan, which they can avail in order for their children to have access to online learning materials.

Schools accepting students in Singapore

In pre-school, there is an estimated total of 10,000 students that are currently asking for general service help from schools, according to the Early Childhood Development Agency.

Despite the numbers in pre-school is larger than those from primary and secondary levels, it is just around five percent of the total number of enrolled pre-schoolers in Singapore.

The students in Singapore are fairly evened out in more than 1,200 schools across the country. General services are also not on a daily basis. Parents working as key workers and without attending guardians to look over the children at home allows them to leave their children at school as they work. The school provides food with standard social distancing measures being strictly followed.
