Startup company helps young Vietnamese learn about technology

The startup company helping young Vietnamese to learn about technology

A startup company in Vietnam is helping students to learn programming. It is also helping them to interact with other technology startups companies. MindX founders have already raised $500,000 to help them expand to more schools and co-working spaces.
MindX is helping young students to learn about technology. The startup, which is based in Hanoi and HCM City, is working with school-going children and working adults to advance technology education.
One of its beneficiaries is a 12-year-old Nguyen Khac Nhat Nam, who has already indicated his interest in the technology world. The 12-year-old has already developed a game under the guidance of the MindX staff. Having started 3D programming only three months ago, Nguyen Khac Nhat Nam will present his gaming idea to his teachers, classmates, and parents soon to showcase his skills in programming.

Goals of the startup

Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, one of the three co-founders of MindX outlined that the core aim of the company is to ensure kids learn about technology. He made a comparison between Vietnam and the Silicon Valley in the US, where he said the latter had a more technologically savvy population. He pointed out the fact that most workers in Silicon Valley, such as sales or marketing teams, real estate agents and investors, knew how to program, something he wants to be replicated in Vietnam.
MindX is providing a platform for young people to discuss and learn about technology. The company also indicated that it was also providing a co-working area, which during the day, it was hosting local and foreign technological startups such as Jamja, Wefit, VNI, Ninja Van and Nextrans Capital.
Many students are able to interact with industry players and Mindx is priding itself in providing a platform where that can be achieved. Many of its students have ended up working for these companies. They have also revitalized young people into pursuing technology-related programs.

Major technology players co-work with students

Nguyen Thi Thu Ha said that, at some point, the programming languages would be as common as any other languages such as English. It was, therefore, important for the company to prepare these young students for the future.
MindX outlined its goal was to help in training workers who would make the ‘made in Vietnam’ brands. They also outlined plans to expand to 20 to 50 schools. They were also in the process of building more co-working spaces where their students would interact with major technology industrial players, both locally and internationally.
To help achieve this, MindX has already raised funding of $500,000 from ESP Capital, Vietnam’s leading early-stage venture fund. They realize this is an ambitious project but they have indicated that they are willing to do what it takes to advance technology in the country.
