Early opening of classes in the US will require a huge budget for sanitation costs

opening of class

District officials are hesitant in an early opening of classes in their respective districts, too much money will be spent to make it happen.

Safety measures when an early opening of classes happen

As talks in the US about the early opening of classes are getting louder, district officials discuss the practicality and safety measures needed for allowing students back to school in such an early timeframe. In the US, a growing number of citizens are not that convinced about the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic, with that, they are calling for an earlier resumption of work and school for their children.
The education department is now torn between securing student safety and addressing a growing number of berated parents wanting their children back into their classrooms. But, district officials from different schools around various states voices out the concern on school costs if the early opening of classes pushes through.
Sanitation
Sanitation will be one of the most tedious and costly concerns that schools have to deal with when classes resume. Every corner of the school should be regularly sanitized, which will make use of liters of sanitary materials daily. Also, extensive cleaning should be done every end of the school day in preparation for tomorrow’s class.
Social distancing
Normal class sizes will be impossible when strict social distancing measures are in effect. It will be very impractical to have less than a quarter of the class in the classroom at once due to proper social distancing. A district official suggests to acquire container vans as temporary classrooms, but it will surely cost a few dollars to acquire one and custom fit to a classroom.

This is not a good time to improvise

According to the Minnesota Health Department, though being creative and resourceful is a good trait, this does not apply in a pandemic situation such as the world is experiencing right now. It is still best to stay at home and minimize any unnecessary physical contacts to stop the transmission of the virus.
But if schools are persistent in the early opening of classes, then at least they strictly follow protocols imposed by their respective health assistance providers. Schools must ensure students follow proper health precautions from going to school, in the school, and back to their homes. This way, they can be assured that the transmission of the virus is minimal to none.
