Online courses boost careers of 93M with help of employers

online

With the continuous advancement of technology, several online education providers are providing free and low-cost courses for workers hoping to advance their careers.
Technology has continued to transform various sectors of human life and has also been adopted in the education sector. Workers can now use technology to improve themselves throughout their careers.
Online courses focus on using information and communications technology for learning and are currently one of the most common ways for workers to gain new or additional skills.
LinkedIn Learning is reportedly one of the most popular online education providers, in 2019 alone, it allegedly had 93 million workers taking a course or learning a skill on its platform.
LinkedIn learning programme costs about $299.88 per annum but is often offered to students by their universities or workers through their employers.

Online courses most offered

A recent analysis by an online education provider revealed that over three million workers take one in each of these five courses. LinkedIn analysis of their user data also supported these claims:
Excel Essential training course; tops the list of courses offered by workers on LinkedIn in 2019. It teaches individuals how to enter data, organize data, perform calculations with simple functions, work with multiple worksheets, format the appearance of data and cells, build charts, and create PivotTables.
Emily Poague, vice president of LinkedIn Learning, said that the course coming first in the list of most offered course wasn’t surprising. She explained that the Excel course comes out on top because it is a general office skill that can apply to a wide range of workers in a wide range of industries.
Cert Prep: Project Management Professional (PMP); comes next after excel essential training. It is a certification training course that teaches critical project management concepts from the exam and offers study guides and sample practice exams to hone your test-taking skills.
Online marketing techniques; is also among the most offered, it teaches how to promote your business effectively online and develop a targeted online marketing strategy that engages potential customers throughout the digital landscape.
Project Management; this is usually a start-to-finish approach to getting things done and making projects more successful. Project management can be used to guide small, simple projects as well as complex enterprise-wide initiatives. It’s a profession, but it’s also a set of techniques that anyone can apply to achieve goals and manage project work more effectively.
Python Essential Training; this course covers the basics of language syntax and usage, as well as advanced features such as objects, generators, and exceptions. Workers learn how types and values are related to purposes. They also learn how to use control statements, loops, and functions.

Disadvantages of Online Education

Although the advantages of online education are numerous, the problems of this initiative also exist.
Out of all the existing disadvantages, lack of accreditation and low quality tops the list. Notably, online courses are more tedious and require more rigorous self-direction.
