financial aid policies

The University of Southern California launches two financial aid policies to help low to middle-income families send their children to a decent college education.

New financial aid policies in USC

The President for academic affairs at the University of Southern California just announced two new financial aid policies intended to make education in USC more affordable and accessible.
Mr. Carol L. Folt, President at USC, released the great news, and it will start its implementation by enrollment in the fall of 2020. The new financial aid policies include the following criterion:

  • Applicants whose family annual income lies below the $80000 mark can go to USC tuition-free.
  • The calculation for candidacy to student assistance programs will no longer consider house properties as part of the criteria

The new set of financial aid policies helps open doors for financially incapable families to send talented and skilled children into a world-class, reputable college institution.

A new bread of global innovators

The high cost of sending a child to college is burdening a lot of families. But at USC, they believe that great talent and minds should not be wasted just because of financial incapacity.
The University is well known for producing world-class innovators, diplomats, and researchers. USC believes that financial issues should be the last concern for brilliant minds wanting to lead for future generations.
An annual allocation of $30 million is being pumped in the university’s financial aid program. Around 4000, incoming and existing students that will be under the financial assistance program will benefit from this funding.
USC has been blessed with generous financial assistance from different sectors worldwide. Over $640 million worth of funding is being allocated to tuition and financial assistance programs, with $375 million coming from scholarships and grants.
Trenton Stone, President of the Undergraduate Student Government at USC, applauds the plan made by the university administrators, it says how much an incredible university USC is.

Financial barriers should not hinder students with talent and will to go to a top-tier university like USC.

College expenses have been a major campaign tool in the upcoming 2020 presidential elections in the U.S. The move that USC made shows that it doesn’t take an electoral campaign to make a difference in the issue of college affordability.
