Ministry of Education in Tripura approves mass promotion of students from Class 1 to 9 and 11.
Mass promotion of students
The Education Minister of Tripura, Mr. Ratan Lal Nath, announced on Sunday that all students from Class 1 to 9 and Class 11 would undergo mass promotion in preparation for the next school year. Also, virtual classes for all levels in all state schools in Tripura will have started last Sunday.
According to Nath, there must be no delay in the schedule of classes to ensure that no problems will haggle the students along the way. The mass promotion was the solution used by the education minister to allow students to catch up with the start of online classes last Sunday.
Local news channels in Tripura will broadcast classes starting last Sunday up until the 3rd of May. The education minister expects the lockdown to be lifted any time soon on the 4th of May, after which physical classes will be then likely to resume.
Examination results for Class 10 and Class 12
Examinations for Class 1 to 9 were given prior to the lockdown in Tripura, which is why student evaluations were readily available as the mass promotion was called into effect.
Class 11 students still lack exam results from three subjects, namely, Music, Statistics, and Sociology. Since it is impossible to conduct the exams during the lockdown, the evaluation of students will be based on their grades incurred during half-yearly assessment tests.
Whereas for Class 10 and 12, examination results are expected to be evaluated starting the 24th of April in 13 various learning centers across Agartala. Teachers evaluating the exam results are expected to maintain social distancing protocols, as stated in the lockdown guidelines of the city.
Examination results will be uploaded through the EmpowerU application by the 25th of April, as instructed by the Ministry of Education in Tripura.
