How technology is helping people deal with coronavirus lockdown

Technology is helping people deal with isolation resulting in a spike in usage of such technologies in the past few weeks the world has been in lockdown.
The social fabric of our society has been torn apart by the spread of coronavirus which has resulted in lockdown and restrictions of movement to approximately a third of the world population. Human to human connections that we enjoyed have been shattered and replaced by social distancing and stay at home orders.
However, technology is slowly replacing these connections and people are now coping with the lockdown positively. Here are some of the ways technology is helping us continue with our lives during this lockdown. Whatever doubts that technology is helping people should be eased up during these times.

Technology is helping people keep in touch with each other

Technologies such as messaging apps have been useful in helping a lot of people keep in touch with their loved ones. Whatsapp, Snapchat and Telegram messaging apps have become very useful during this lockdown period by keeping people updated about their family and friends’ welfare.
Video conferencing apps such as Skype and Zoom have also seen a spike in usage. People are able to see each other through the usage of these technologies and connect emotionally with their loved ones. People working at home are also using Zoom services and skype to hold meetings and plan on tasks and goals of their jobs.

Dating life during the lockdown

Technology has also taken over the dating scene during this lockdown. Since it is no longer possible to interact with people face to face ask them out, dating apps have taken a center stage for those searching for their soulmates. Tinder and Bumble are seeing spikes in usage in the past few weeks.

Entertainment

Streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu will come in handy during this lockdown period. Users of these technologies will be able to catch up with their favorite tv shows and movies. The subscriptions for such services are also projected to spike high as people will be locked in their homes and will turn to such services for entertainment.

Tutorials

Tutorials might also come in handy for those placed in lockdown. These are services that will help users learn new skills or sharpen the skills they already have.
Online learning courses and universities have also seen a spike with a lot of students already in lockdown. Such services have become the standard for learning and more schools are adapting to these education technologies for their day to day activities during this lockdown.
