Gun violence mitigated by policy changes; report

The government needs to adopt policy changes to make it harder for people to acquire a gun and get permits for carrying a gun, opined different researchers on gun violence in the United States.
In 2017, a team of medical scientists set out to research ways to reduce gun violence rates in the United States. One of the main conclusions of the study is that there are achievable policy changes that can reduce the rate of firearm accidents.
One of the main questions for the research team was related to the similarities between gun violence and violence prevention in general. Another critical issue for the researchers was to analyze the effects of social media outlets on gun violence rates.
Later, in 2018, another group of researchers decided to focus on the role epidemiologists play for the reduction of gun violence in the United States. According to their research, the probability of getting hurt by a firearm increases significantly when a person is the owner of a gun.
The epidemiologists report also noted that the United States reported the highest number of murder by firearm of any other wealthy nation in the world.

Reduction of gun violence

While many people believe that the rise in the number of children who play video games is the reason behind the increase in firearm-related accidents, this is not the only cause.
According to researchers, the lax policies for acquiring a gun are another main reason behind the increased number of instances of gun violence in the country.
Another one of the policy changes mentioned in the report concerns domestic violence offenders. According to the researchers, restricting offenders from the ability to purchase firearms will bring a significant decrease to the number of gun violence cases in the United States.
