Guidelines for teachers released by DepEd

guidelines for teachers

The Department of Education announced the release of its guidelines for teachers via DepEd Commons.

Guidelines for teachers now available

An announcement from the Department of Education(DepEd) last Monday confirmed the release of the guidelines for teachers for the coming school year 2020-2021. The information is readily available for teachers through DepEd’s online platform, the DepEd Commons website.
DepEd’s Most Essential Learning Competencies(MELCs) are the new guidelines for teachers to be used this coming school year. This manual will prepare teachers on how to deal with blended learning as the new normal for the school year 2020-2021.
The MELCs was revised to compress lectures and competencies that overlap on previous learning competency manuals. From the previous curriculum with more than 14,000 MELCs, it has been compressed and reduced to less than 6000 MELCs.
DepEd Undersecretary Alain Pascua believes that by compressing the previous curriculum, learning can be more efficient and less redundant.

Reselling free DepEd learning materials

The Department also reminded netizens about the blatant selling of online learning materials taken from the DepEd Commons website. It is prohibited and will be dealt upon legally by the government.
It has come to the DepEd’s attention that some online sellers are taking advantage of parents lacking information about the free learning material contents on the government’s online platform.

These sellers are taking out workbooks, learning efficiency materials, and other educational resources from the site, fabricating the logos and selling it online.

The DepEd is calling on netizens to help disseminate information about the free contents found inside the DepEd Commons website to fellow parents and families.

In this time of trials, it is unfortunate that there are those who prefer to take advantage of their fellowmen rather than help progressively.
