Virtual game platform will help medical students attain practical skills

platform

A new simulator platform, developed by EMS and Professor Stephen Duffull of the University of Otago School of Pharmacy in New Zealand, will help students in medical disciplines to develop their practical skills.
Medical education is loaded with a large amount of theory, but students rarely get the opportunity to practice theoretical lessons.
The SimPHARM platform is designed to suit the needs of medical students as they go through various courses of mostly academic tasks. To get an accurate representation of the clinical environment, the game simulator is designed to present students with real-life situations, and in real-time.

What does the platform offer?

The simulator aims to create an environment where students will be placed in close to real-life conditions. This means that while playing a simulator game on the platform, medical students will be testing and developing their decision-making skills.
SimPHARM is another technological innovation entering the world of medical education, which shows a significant trend of how new developments make the educational process more accessible and more productive.
This video game simulator will allow students to work on their skills in terms of making the right decisions in a stressful environment, without having to feel the pressure of real-life situations. According to Anurag Singh, President and CEO of EMS:
According to recent test uses of the platform, students find working with SimPHARM very helpful for their academic and professional development. This innovative approach to medical education has the potential to become a valuable piece of equipment in universities.
