Egypt’s Ministry of Higher Education teams up with China’s Huawei company to train Egyptian students in the field of Information and Communications Technology.
China’s Huawei offers ICT training
The partnership between Egypt’s Higher Education Ministry and China’s Huawei company opens up a vast array of opportunities for Egyptian students interested in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
Talks between Education Minister Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar and Huawei Egypt CEO Sun Luocheng happened in Cairo, Tuesday night. The meeting discussed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two heads in strengthening the ICT field in universities across Egypt.
The Education Minister wants to template the agreement from the successful outcome of the Huawei ICT academy in Egypt, which was a partnership between Huawei and Ain Shams University.
The digital transformation in Egypt is something Abdel-Ghaffar takes pride in. He believes that by strengthening ICT facilities in Egyptian Universities can help improve the quality of higher education and scientific research in Egypt.
Young ICT talents in Egypt
The intervention of a world-renowned company in ICT like China’s Huawei is a big boost in the dreams of Egyptian students to excel in the same field. Egypt is eyeing to develop its student’s skills in developing modern technology that will help sustain their developing country.
CEO for Huawei Egypt is equally interested in the partnership with Egypt’s government to strengthen the development of ICT talents in young students in the country. Huawei is also looking forward to expanding its training program into different parts of Africa and the Middle East in the near future.
According to Sun Luocheng, the ICT training program will commence May this year, at the beginning of the academic year 2020-2021.
