Coronavirus Anxiety: Anxious Florida University instructors can't exclude learners

Coronavirus anxiety

Florida University has issued a notice that it might not excuse learners from the institution following Coronavirus anxiety due to coughing incidents from learners. Florida State is currently experiencing the flu and one of the professors has resolved to keep out coughing students from his course.

Coronavirus anxiety takes dimension as professors ask coughing students to leave lecture halls

Florida university provost Glover Joseph issued notice to the departmental heads saying that he was in the know that some course instructors had requested students with cough symptoms to leave halls of learning and acquire formal letters from the University’s health center for confirmation that they were not suffering from the infectious Coronavirus.
Glover reiterated that instructors should be made aware that no incidences of Coronavirus had been reported at the university or anywhere else in Alachua county.
He went on to add that, the university encourages instructors to be mindful of their learners’ health, they should not excuse learners from lecture halls to confirm if they were free of the virus.
The notice also had a link from the University’s director of health services confirming that there were no Coronavirus cases reported in the institution.

Picking on certain students would be viewed as racism

A professor in the school, Churchill Roberts who is also actively involved in the faculty union sent a message through an email saying he had learned with shock, that some departments were going through coronavirus anxiety and had asked students to be screened for the virus before resuming learning.
Roberts assured that there had been no virus cases in Gainesville or at the University. He added that it was flu season with students experiencing different stages of the infection. Roberts argues that faculties were not trained to be medical police and if they had any suspicions that any student could be sick and contagious then they were supposed to report the case to the chair of their department for action to be taken. Succumbing to coronavirus anxiety is not helping anybody.
Roberts expressed worry that picking on certain students would be viewed as racism. He envisioned in particular learners from Asia who had the flu and requested to leave class for tests whereas other students went unnoticed.
A professor at Wright State University Rudy Fichtenbaum nodded into an agreement with the university’s course of action in dealing with coronavirus anxiety. He added that after contacting his brother who was a specialist on infectious diseases at Cincinnati University, he confirmed that it was hysterical and discriminatory to ask learners to vacate class and resume after medical tests. Through his brother’s rejoinder, he confirmed that no action would have been taken until the university’s health officials called for action.
