Chipotle to assist its employees with 100percent higher-ed tuition

Chipotle Mexican Grill, or simply Chipotle has made an ambitious move to support its employees by covering their tuition completely if they wish to pursue degrees in technology and business. So far, it has aided its employees’ tuition worth more than $20 million in the past two years and plans to continue this in the future.
Chipotle’s scholarship criterion is that if an employee works for 15 hours per week for a minimum of 120 days, then he or she is entitled to avail the benefits. As a stipulation, after graduating, employees are required to stay and work with the company for the next 6 months.
Chipotle, currently covers 75 different degrees under business and technology fields. With the help of Guild Education, it has tied up with The University of Arizona, Bellevue University, Brandman University, Southern Hampshire University, and Wilmington University.
Employees are delighted with the company’s attitude towards them. Many of them have taken advantage of completing their degrees under the program. Leaving higher education for a job is difficult but when employers offer such assistance, it is extremely hard to say no to an opportunity like this.
At this moment, where the cost of higher education is one of the hottest debates for presidential elections, Chipotle has assisted their employees with full assistance in their higher education pursuit.

Chipotle helping with the schooling as well

Students working at Chipotle, who are entitled and availing the benefits are mostly first-generation college-going students. Also it allows its eligible workers to join the school of their choice, which will be reimbursed to more than $5000 per year. The help with upskilling and education has eventually been better for the company itself. Employees have been happy, working efficiently and have been excelling everywhere.
Similar initiations have been made by UPS and Publix. Brands like McDonald’s and Starbucks have decided to help their employees by helping with their mental issues.
