California universities eyeing blockchain educational approaches

MouseBelt, a venture capital-backed blockchain accelerator firm, will sponsor blockchain programs of study at three California universities. This follows its successful curation of blockchain courses at Cambridge, Oxford, and Harvard.
The three institutions are UC Santa Barabara, UC Los Angeles, and UC Davis. The firm is expected to propel blockchain educational expertise at these institutions.
MouseBelt has emerged to be a reputable company with at least forty million dollars ($40M) funding by NueValue Capital.
As a result, it presently assists fourteen (14) universities and sixty-five (65) student-based blockchain groupings.

Blockchain educational prospects

MouseBelt is expected to fund blockchain research projects across the three California universities. Expressly, it will sponsor programs from undergraduate to Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) levels.
MouseBelt has planned to use five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) in this sponsorship. The firm’s philanthropy will also be felt at the engineering departments of these California universities.
According to Ashlie Meredith, UC’s outreach director, the blockchain programs will be instrumental in filling a knowledge deficit witnessed at the university level.
She asserted that many universities did not have blockchain classes, hence creating a vast void filled by student organizations.
Meredith stipulated that the same student groups were pivotal in generating MouseBelt’s present objective.
She was, therefore, optimistic that the blockchain educational programs would be instrumental in making the California universities a center of excellence. Blockchain industrial and theoretical expertise will be offered to both researchers and students.

Demand for blockchain courses soars

According to Dr. Mo Shadoghi of UC Davis, the urge for blockchain courses among students had risen at an astonishing rate.
For instance, he stipulated that the engineering blockchain classes he was teaching had attained the maximum limit of sixty-five (65) students. As a result, he has added many to a waitlist and cut off others.
Shadoghi acknowledges that blockchain technology ought to be viewed as a paradigm shift in the data storage sector. He, however, proclaimed that it required youthful innovation and creativity.
Educational institutions across the globe have come to appreciate the importance of blockchain technology as they are coming up with strategies to have it taught.
For instance, in India, Reva University in Bangalore recently collaborated with EMURGO academy in generating blockchain technology courses for students.
Moreover, the Curtin University of Australia has revealed its focus on blockchain programs, whereas some 200 Bangladesh graduates are expected to attain blockchain education abroad.
