As the election campaign term draws near, Assam’s state government flagship program finally sets to launch.

The Education Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Tuesday about the distribution of scooters as a reward to all female students who got first division ranks in this year’s state board examinations for higher education. The reward is part of the government flagship program Pragyan Bharati.
The Pragyan Bharati” promotes equality and women empowerment especially in the field of education. By providing a promising rewards system on female education excellency, the state is expecting for better perseverance and progress when it comes to education competency in women.
According to Sarma, the distribution of the rewards for the state government flagship program proves to be very timely as political parties are starting to groom themselves for next year’s election.

This is just the first of the many state government flagship programs under “Ashtadash Mukutor Unnoyonee Maala” scheme.

Scooters for excellent performing students

Approximately twenty-two thousand scooters will be distributed by the government for the female students who had excellent remarks during the higher education state board examinations. The scooters come in two variations the electric and the traditional designs. All accessories such as helmets, jackets, and gloves are included.
There will also be an agreement where all distributed scooters will not be allowed to be sold up until 3 years since the day of distribution.
Sarma also mentioned expanding Assam’s education workforce by hiring more than 7,400 high school teachers for secondary education and another 7,000 for primary and middle school.
