AI narration mimics audiobook authors

Sogou, a search engine company headquartered in Beijing, China, has announced that it is developing an AI algorithm, which will recreate the voices of authors for their audiobooks.
To successfully mimic the voice of the author, the AI is loaded with previous video and audio recordings of the author speaking. Then the algorithm runs and creates a capable AI avatar, which can recreate the voice and speak of the author, no matter what the text.
AI narration is something that has yet to be introduced to the publishing world, and especially narration with the original voice of the author. This is a significant step forward in terms of customer service in the publishing world, as many readers would highly appreciate listening to a book ready by the author.

AI narration – a tale of the future?

If someone told you that you can listen to recordings of books as they are read by the original authors around ten years ago, you probably wouldn’t have believed this to be possible. However, times are changing fast in the world of technology, and now, AI can make that happen.
According to recent statistics, AI, e-games and virtual reality have already formed a market with an income of more than one hundred and seventy billion dollars (USD174bn).
AI narration is just one of the numerous implementations of this new technology. Recently, Chinese television channels decided to launch a trial, in which they tested the effectiveness of AI news anchors. While this is an ambitious idea, the execution was not perfected enough, and viewers reported that they were not happy with the digital news anchors.
AI technology is bound to continue revolutionizing the entertainment industry, as it allows customers to benefit from services, which have not been available before.
