Digital classrooms most helpful in Tier 2 and 3 cities in India

As India’s education system is under a lot of reformation, the government has started with the concept of digital classrooms to provide quality education to students from suburbs and rural regions. The digital classroom is being implemented in K-12 schools to meet the SDG 4 goals set up by the UN.
Government schools in rural areas of the country often lack quality teachers, resources. Apart from this, there are so many restrictions like child labor, which work completely against a child’s welfare. When all these elements work together, a child loses the excitement to attend school. Ever since education has met with technology, especially in rural regions, children have shown up at schools in great numbers. In digital classrooms, children are encouraged to discuss their viewpoints and listen effectively to what the others have to say.

Digital classrooms equalize learning for rural students

Students in rural areas have shown enormous talent when it comes to learning. Talking about entrepreneurial opportunities, students from rural areas have come up with new innovations to empower rural India.
As of this year or early 2020, students would be able to get online higher education too, as University Grants Commission (UGC) plans to take down its tough regulations which are working against access to online education.
Another major problem of rural India is the ratio of girls enrolling for schools. Unsafe environment and unavailability of schools and teachers nearby have often disabled parents to send their girl child to school. Digital classrooms provide the liberty to access education at the convenience of the child at his or her own pace of learning.
Besides this, initiatives like e-Pathshala, SWAYAM portal, and RUSA have been developed by the government in order to bring the sex ratio in rural education to 1.0.
As of today, rural students can compete with urban students in terms of academics and learnings. Digitizing education has made education available to the students at all times of the day. Although the facilities are scarce for students in rural areas, their zeal to learn makes up for it.
