100percent renewable energy: Soon in Canberra

renewable energy

The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) aims to construct the nation’s largest battery facility to prepare for a source of renewable energy. It is capable of supplying power for twenty-five thousand (25,000) homes all at the same time, to end Australia’s reliance on traditional fossil fuel energy.
The storage facility is to be built at Canberra, the capital of ACT. In the level of storage capacity, it is measured to be a third of the world’s largest available. It is expected to be completed in a few weeks from now. Upon completion, Canberra is expected to rely solely on renewable energy as its source of electricity.
As a whole, it can also help support the entire ACT electricity grid, covering up for the inconsistencies in electricity voltage, divert the budget intended for electrical infrastructure upgrades, create a decent pool for stored electricity that can be used during high demand, and could possibly eliminate bit by bit the use of fossil fuel energy.

Let’s support renewable energy advocacy by sharing more information

Let us learn more about renewable energy. The world is accustomed to using fossil fuels as a main source of energy, but as we are educated on its harmful effect on our environment, several countries have started to shift their interest to renewable energy.
Best way to define it is energy collected from natural elements which are considered renewable resources. Renewable resources namely, sun (solar), water current (hydro), wind, wave energy and geothermal energy.

ACT will announce its success in achieving 100 percent renewable energy

Renewable energy resources may vary for different countries because of terrain, weather and geographical structure. In Australia, miles and miles of open fields are very abundant in the area. The country’s geographical composition makes it a good location to construct giant windmills and solar panels to collect renewable energy from the wind and the sun respectively.
Just a few weeks from now, the ACT government is expected to announce its success in achieving 100 percent renewable energy reliance within its area. As soon as these large storage batteries are completed, attaching it to large scale power supplies will be the next big thing.
But with the high interest in converting into renewable energy, they expect a good bid from the private sectors for the building of these facilities. The bid will be competitive enough that the government will not worry that much of putting up that much budget.
This is a good time to support the industry and this is not just for personal gain but for the benefit of the whole ACT. It is expected after renewable energy takes over; a household will only pay something under $250 yearly for electricity consumption.
