$100,000 donated to teachers and students of Manhattan schools for art and music

Parents, school authorities, and society, on the whole, are often left wondering how the rising cost in school education can be met when the government budget falls short. Teachers and students are left helpless when schools cut programs related to art and music.
It is into this scenario that the non-profit Adoptaclassroom.org, the retailer Burlington Stores, and celebrity Taye Diggs comes with the generous donation of one hundred thousand USD.

Broadway Star’s support for teachers and students

The award-winning Broadway star, Taye Diggs, presented the check on behalf of Burlington Stores and Adoptaclassroom.org to Richard A Carranza, the Chancellor of New York City schools. The donation will be utilized for musical instruments and art supplies.
Diggs spoke of the role educators have played in his life and career. Coming from a family of teachers, he was able to identify the passion teachers had for this project. The money will be utilized among the six school districts of Manhattan.
School Chancellor Carranza praised the efforts and added that he is a “true fan” of AdoptaClassroom.org. This is the third year Burlington Stores are partnering with the non-profit and together they have raised three-point-six million USD till date.
Burlington Stores is a Fortune 500 company with six hundred and eighty-four stores. They have launched a campaign across all the stores where customers can donate one dollar or more towards the cause of early education. The campaign which started on July 7 will run till August 17, 2019.
In an environment where ninety percent of classrooms lack school supplies, initiatives like this will be a great blessing to teachers and students.
